We live in a weird world where it seems perfectly normal to buy tomatoes all year round 🤔. You can’t grow them in winter so why should we be able to buy them?
Want to know what’s in season in NZ? I’ve made a seasonal produce chart to help.
What we don’t consider is the massive carbon footprint attached to the produce that we import from overseas, not to mention the depletion of nutrients that happens when they get shipped so far and pumped with preservatives.
Eating seasonally not only means your food is fresher and healthier, it also keeps the price down and helps keep our 🌎 that little bit greener.
